Welcome to Sandymount

It has been a couple weeks since I have posted anything new here, and what a whirlwind couple of weeks it has been. After a smooth arrival into Dublin at the beginning of July, we ended up living in the Eastern part of the city in an area known as Grand Canal docks. It was an absolutely lovely area, and it was great to be right near the water in spite of the overwhelming fish odors. However, after a few weeks I think we were all a little stir crazy and done with apartment life.

As of this weekend, we are in a lovely little town in the south part of Dublin known as Sandymount. It is a great little village that is super close to work, 6 minutes by bike according to Google maps.

Speaking of work, I started on the 19th back at Facebook, and it has been really great. I am surrounded by incredibly talented people doing really cool work. It is still a bit odd to be sitting at home in Ireland and working, and I think more than a few people have asked why I had to come to Ireland just to work from my home. Such as the joy of the European Union and its employment / tax laws.

All in all, I don't think we could have asked for a better start to our time here in Ireland than this last month has been.
